This FREE version of the Hyakume IP Camera Client has the following limits:
1. A single Camera List with 10 Camera entries
2. Web browser clients can't record remote video or capture snapshot images
3. Remote clients can't access the Relay Server's saved media
4. Activity Logging is disabled
Paid Version Description:
Install the Hyakume ("Hundred Eyes") app to easily view, record and relay the H.264 & MJPEG video streams produced by a wide variety of IP Cameras (security, surveillance, doorbell, baby/pet monitors, traffic & weather feeds, webcams, etc).
H.264/RTSP and MJPEG/HTTP streams can be directly accessed by Hyakume. If the app is running in Relay Server mode (see below), the streams can be remotely accessed by Android devices and desktop/mobile web browsers - FREE.
Hyakume supports up to one hundred Camera entries in up to 10 Camera Lists, 10 Cameras per List. Create separate Lists for your home, business, workshop, storage, farm, etc.
Adding Camera entries is simple. Enter:
- A unique name (Kitchen, Garage, etc)
- the camera's IPv4 address & video stream path (ex. /video/h264/ch1)
- a stream format (MJPEG/H.264/Relay)
- a stream port number (8080, 5554, etc)
- If the camera requires authentication, the username & password
- If the entry is a Relay Server, enable/disable TLS/SSL encryption
Tap the "Test this Connection" button. A small thumbnail image of the camera video should appear.
Save the new camera entry. All done!
Hyakume can operate as a mobile Client or dedicated Relay Server.
In Client mode, you can access your Cameras on the go. Just tap a Camera entry to view it. If the entry is a Relay Server, the app will display a list of available Cameras to choose from.
In Relay Server mode, the Hyakume device (phone, tablet, etc) remains connected to the local/home IP network and streams its Cameras to remote Hyakume clients and web browsers* on request.
Remote stream connections are secured by TLS/SSL encryption and mandatory authentication to protect your privacy.
Remote access through the Relay Server is FREE. All you need is a spare Android device and a decent Internet connection.
* Web browsers connect to the Relay Server's optional Web Client interface to view and record video streams.
